Salvation
Hello, my name is Jim Davidson and I am excited to be working with the youth here at Faith!
Please allow me to tell you what Jesus has done in my life.
I grew
up in a Roman Catholic home where I learned that Jesus was God, but I never asked Him to be my Savior. I
left home at seventeen to join the Navy where I tried to live up to my name, "Harley Davidson." Through
God’s goodness, I was placed on a ship with some very zealous Christians that began to share their faith with me.
I came to a place in my life where I realized that I was a sinner (Rm. 3:23) and that I was heading
to a place called Hell. I learned that God demonstrated His love to me by sending Jesus to die in my place
(Rm. 5:8). I repented of my sin and asked Jesus Christ to save me (Rm. 10:9-10).
That day, July 14, 1993 at the age of 20, I was born-again. Jesus did a work in my life that I
still have not gotten over (and I hope I never will). I know that if I were to die today I would go to
Heaven. Do you have that same assurance? You CAN today!
I obeyed the Lord in believer’s baptism six months later and truly began to grow in the grace and knowledge
of our Lord. I gave my life to Him for full time service and handed Him the title deed to my life.
Sweetheart
I met Missy, my sweetheart the same year I was saved. That truly was the best year of my life!! After
two and a half years of dating, we were married on March 23, 1996. Missy is my best friend and a tremendous
help in the ministry. She is actively involved in the youth and music ministries here at Faith.
School
In the fall of
2000, Missy and I moved to NC so that I could attend Ambassador Baptist College to train to be an evangelist.
It was during my college experience that I began to be aware of what it was like to sincerely walk with God.
The Lord taught me so much through His Word. My schooling was a time of spiritual stretching.
The Lord taught our family many lessons that have helped us to minister to others. I graduated from
ABC on May 6, 2005.
Surrender
During my last year of college God began
to do a work in my heart concerning the type of ministry that He would have us in. Even in the early days
of my Christian walk, Missy and I had been heavily involved with the youth at the different churches where we had been members.
God began to lay a burden on our hearts to work with youth. We both surrendered to do whatever God
would have us to do and to leave our future in His hands.
Service
God has always been faithful to open the doors of service to those that are seeking His will. We
count it a privilege to serve alongside you and we are excited to see what God has in store for our teens at Faith Baptist Church.
